Spring Break Dallas Part 2

So pretty much on the 2nd day of our trip we just shopped :)  It was close to my birthday so I got to go to all my favorites:  West Elm, Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom's Rack, Off 5th Saks Avenue Outlet, Naarjitie for Elle,  Z Gallerie, World Market, H & M, and IKEA.  Corey got to go to his favorite too:  PGA Golf Store.  It was a busy day!

Elle was obsessed with mannequins.  That little black shadow is her!

Elle pointed to this dog and said "Didi." That is what she called Derby now :)

We also got to eat at a lot of great places on our trip.  Here we are at one of my favorites: La Duni.  We also had Mi Cocina, La Madeline's, In and Out Burger (Corey's choice of course), Cheesecake Factory, and Pot Belly Subs. AND we also visited 2 of my ABSOLUTE faves:

I know.  Pretty bad but it sure was good :)

On the 3rd day we took advantage of the pretty weather and went to the Arboretum.  It was so pretty and Elle really enjoyed herself too.  There were a lot of kids there on school field trips and I think she was fascinated with them.

They had little houses that were influenced by famous artists like Van Gogh and Monet.  She loved going in them and exploring.

I Love this one.

Elle about to interupt a group of students visiting the Arboretum.

She made friends with this little girl :)

On our way home we stopped at Pete's Place in MclAlester, OK.  It's this old house that has been made into an Italian Resturant.  It's really neat.  Each family get's to eat in their own room.

Elle thought the spaghetti was YUMMO!  If you ever need a place to stop on your way to Dallas we recommend Pete's Place!  It's worth the stop!

Spring Break 2012 Dallas Part 1

We decided to visit Dallas for Spring Break this year.  We made it a quick trip because we figured Elle would get all out of sorts if we didn't.  When we lived in Dallas, I knew that there were a few places like the World Aquarium and the Arboretum that I would one day like to take my child to visit. Well, that is exactly what we did.  We stayed in the Park Cities area.  Elle really liked our room.

On our first day we went to the Dallas World Aquarium.  Elle really enjoyed seeing the porpoises and the pink flamingos.  She also liked all the water falls.  It was kind of busy that day being Spring Break time AND my camera battery died AGAIN but we got a few pictures.

The rest of the aquarium pictures were taken by phone :(

This is a bad picture but that was a King Crab.  Elle was saying "Wooh."

She really liked all the "fish."

It's hard to tell but this picture is taken in a tunnel under the shark tank.  It was really cool!

Pink Flamingos.  Elle's favorite.

Don't turn me away from the Flamingos to pose for a picture!!!!!!!

Also, on our trip we got to do a lot of eating and shopping :)  We visited Galleria and ate dinner by the ice skating rink at Mi Cocinas. YUM!

Elle really liked their guacamole!

Elle admiring the kids skating.

Put me in Mom, I'm ready to skate :)

Little Miracles

There have been a lot of special babies born recently and I definitely want to document it.  The MOST important to me would be my cousin's baby Barrett.  Kersten is like a sister to me so we're gonna call him a nephew.  He was born on March 5th and he is SUCH a cutie!  He lives 5.5 hours away :( so I haven't had the chance to meet him in person yet but I will very soon!

Welcome to the world Barrett Nathaniel Herget!

Ginger and Conrad's little girl, Gillian Avery, was born on March 8th.  We were able to go see her in the hospital.  She is so cute and has a ton of hair!!!!

My friend Megan also had a little girl, Naomi, on Febuary 21st.  I went to see her but my camera battery was dead so all I have are these I phone pics. She has a lot of hair too!!!

Now I just need pictures of Collins and Lowen... hopefully coming soon:)

Happy 5th Birthday Derby Dog!

On March 7th, our dog Derby turned 5 years old!  I remember when we first got Derby.  We were living in Dallas.  Derby was born in Arkansas, but we got him on one of our visits home.  He was so little and oh so sweet.  I feel in love immediately. He has been such a good companion for me when Corey travels.  I don't know what I would have done without him.

Look how young both Corey and Derby are :) Awww

So we had to spoil our first baby by getting him a doggie cake from Sugarbear's.  He enjoyed it very much and Elle enjoyed all the celebrating too!

The birthday boy.

Elle giving Derby some Love.

After shot.  I think he liked it!

Happy Birthday Derby Dog!  We LOVE you :)

Elle update:  new words that she is saying:  "Hot" (she pretty much thinks all foods are hot and she then blows on them) and "Teddy."

I think "Teddy" is giving "Blankie" a little competition.
