New tricks

Elle is learning so much these days.  She is waving (she uses her whole arm to do this but that's OK), she is giving fives or really she just slaps your hand, she signs more but it really just looks like a clap but I know what it means, and she is consistently saying..... Da da Da, Yay, and Uh after we say Uh oh.  I joke with Corey that the reason she said Da da first is because it's easier to say but the truth is that if it were all the same, Elle would probably still say Da da first.  She LOVES her daddy and Corey ADORES her.  Yesterday, I asked Corey to change Elle's diaper for me and it just so happened that the monitor was still on from her nap.  I heard him sing the cutest made up song to her!  It will be a sweet memory of mine I'm sure for a long time to come.

Elle playing with her nuk brush and Derby wanting it!

Also this weekend, we went to dinner with my second cousin Sydney one more time before she moved away.  She is moving back to Northeast Arkansas for more teaching job opportunities.  We've really enjoyed her hanging out with us since she's been here.  She will definitely be missed.  I can't wait to hear all the great things she will do!  We will see ya soon!

Me and my babies.  I had to take a picture with Derby to show off his new haircut!

Already developing bad habits :)

We officially have enough hair to have bed head.

Just getting ready for a bath.

Bruiser!

So this is not the funnest post I've ever written because I'm so sad to say that...... Elle has her first BLACK EYE!  I'm still not sure how it happened!  I left her sitting on the floor with her toys and went to the kitchen for maybe 30 seconds and when I came back her right eye was swollen and really red!  She didn't even cry and she was sitting up just like the way I had left her! I picked her up and showed Corey because I thought I was seeing things?!  I almost cried!  It then started getting black and blue.  I believe she fell on top of her ring stacker thingy... probably right on the tender area of her eye.
Makes me so sad! There goes my mother of the year award... ha ha!

She doesn't seem to mind!

Uncle Bret came to help us with our new elliptical machine.  Thank you for your help!  Elle loves her uncle Bret but she didn't feel like posing during this picture!

This past weekend we had to pleasure of attending 2 One Year Old Birthday Parties!  Both Roman and Cate were born on the same day and they both live in our neighborhood!  We all had a great time!  First we went to Cate's party.

Awesome spread!

The precious birthday girl!

Cate was so sweet eating her cake... very lady like!

Then we went to Roman's party! It was cowboy themed and it was a lot of fun!

Our sweetness!

We went to Mountain Home this past weekend.  Corey helped with the renovation of his mom's bedroom, and Elle played with her cousin Anna.

Bath time!

She played so hard that she fell asleep during her dinner!  She has never done that before!

On Monday, Elle turned 8 months old!  It is so hard to believe that the day she was born was 8 months ago!  I'm so thankful that the Lord gave us the pleasure of raising this little girl.  It has been the best thing that has happen to Corey and I.  We love her more than we could have ever imagined!

I cannot get enough of her!

Hanging around the house.

We've had a relaxing weekend.  Good time to post some pics.

She's standing up everywhere!

My daddy went to NYC a few weeks ago, and all I got was this t-shirt :)

She can wear a SMALL hair bow without using a headband.  Yay, this is a big deal in mommy's book.

Just reading some books.

She found the floor mirror.

And loves giving herself kisses.

Thanks for checking in with us!

Summer Days!

It's been really hot outside this week so Elle has been lounging in her pool :)

This is how pool time progressed today...  Derby sees pool.

Derby really likes the toys in the pool.

Derby decides to get in the pool.

Derby gets his prize.  A blue rubber dolphin.  Of course he had to get our favorite!

Hey, give me back my toy!

Elle has been developing so fast!  I'm happy that she is doing well with her motor skills but it is rocking our world!  She's crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything.  Operation baby proof has begun at our house!!!

Here is a clip of Elle playing with her voice and mouth.  I know it seems a little cruel of me to keep her juice from her but as a speech therapist I know that sometimes a little aggravation can create more vocal output.

Tonight we went to dinner at Table Mesa.  My FAVORITE these days.  It is located on the Bentonville square. So while we were there, we decided to look in the newly renovated Walton's Five and Dime.  It is the visitor center and museum for Sam Walton and Walmart.  It was really neat.  Here are just a few pics because they wouldn't allow cameras inside.

Miniature replica of Sam Walton's truck.  It was a Ford.  Grandpa would be so proud :)
