Time to play catch up!

It's been a few days since I last posted and we have been busy so it's time to catch up.  Wednesday, the 25th I had my 24 week doctor's appointment.  Dr. Duke said that the baby was measuring on track and that I (or my weight gain) was on track as well :)  I had to drink glucose cola at this appointment and have my blood taken to rule out gestational diabetes so I hope that comes back clear.  I should know within the week.

On Thursday the 26th Corey's mother, Kathy (aka Mimi), came to see us.  It was the first time she had got to see our house.  It has been very difficult for her to get away since Corey's dad has been sick.  We took her to a nice dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak house when when arrived and then the next day we shopped, shopped, shopped!  She bought some really cute outfits for our baby girl!  Thank you Mimi!  On Saturday the 27th, we went to a BBQ competition at Arvest Ball Park and then went to a BBQ birthday party for our neighbor.  I know, that's a lot of BBQ and it was the first time I had eaten pork since I got pregnant! We have been welcomed to our new neighborhood with open arms and we are so appreciative of their friendship!  They have been great!

We are looking forward to the kick off of Razorback football this weekend.  Derby and I are sporting our Razorback gear!  It's hard to see but Derby has on his Razorback collar on and my shirt says Arkansas Razorback Baby on Board!

23 weeks!

I would say I have gone through a "growth spurt" in the past 3 weeks.  My belly is definitely getting bigger.  I've been feeling pretty good with just a little difficulty sleeping at night.  I know!  Already!  I just can't get comfortable and it seems like I have pregnancy insomnia!  All in all, I'd say I'm doing really well.

Table Rock Lake

We were invited to go to the lake with our community group (similar to a bible study) this past weekend.  We stayed at the Dyer lake house on Table Rock Lake.  It was beautiful!!! The house was amazing and right on the water.  The house can sleep up to 45 people!  We had a great time and really enjoyed getting to know our group better.  We have been involved with this group since January and have been welcomed with open arms.  These are some amazing men and women and I can't wait for our friendships grow.  Many of them have young children or are expecting like us. So, I can't wait for baby girl Balentine to meet them all!

On our way home, we stopped by the Landing in Branson, MO.  We ate at one of our favorite restaurants:  Cantina Laredo!  It was one of our most frequented restaurants in Dallas.  Then we shopped a little at the outlet malls.  It was a great weekend!

Atlanta trip

We had a great time in Atlanta! It was so hot, but then again it was hot everywhere last week!  We did some shopping for the baby.  We were able to go to one of my favorite places: Nordstrom's Rack!  It's an outlet for the store Nordstrom's.  They always have the best baby clothes!  We also created a registry at Babies 'R' Us.  It was nice to be able to practice pushing and folding up strollers (hence the picture above). We also had dinner with a high school friend of mine and his wife, the Shaw's.  They took us to a vegetarian restaurant which is right up my alley these days since the thought of chicken/beef/ etc. makes me sick!  We also saw a movie at a place called Fork & Screen.  It is a dinner movie theater.  It was really fun!

Our trip home was not so much fun.  We were stuck on the runway for over 2 hours without air conditioning. For a pregnant person, it felt like an eternity! Then we were informed that we needed to turn around and get more fuel because we didn't have enough to get to NW Arkansas.  After fueling up, they cancelled the flight due to bad weather.  7 hours later we were able to get on the next flight home.  We spent over 4 hours in the Chili's restaurant in the airport (above). Thankfully we were together on this journey!

Pretty girl!

We went to Mountain Home this weekend to see the family and drop off Derby.  Corey's Mom, Kathy, is good at many things including dog sitting.  Thank you Kathy!  I am going to tag along with Corey this week while he is in Atlanta for business so of course, we had to make sure our fur baby was taking care of before we left.  We also wanted to visit our baby niece Anna.  She is so cute!  We dressed her up in an outfit I got her a while back and I have to say she looks really cute in it. She didn't mind having the bow on her head but then again she was very sleepy!
